School Updates Following Fire

March 2010

In mid-February, there was a fire at the school.  The damage was confined to the 4th grade classroom, but other classrooms in the building were of course affected.

The administrative team is continuing to move swiftly to get all the students back on campus.  This page will be updated as changes occur.

Updates for week of March 22nd-

1)  Pre-K and K only will continue to meet at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church.  There classrooms should be ready to be occupied next week.

2)  All other grades and specials will meet at the school.

3)  Modular units are in place and ready.  4th and 5th will share one; Music, Spanish, Art, and Science will share the other.

4)  The Big Vanilla has offered us space to have PE classes, and we have a schedule in place for all classes to use this space.

5)  Sneakers - Because of modifications to recess places due to the wet ground, we are using other outside areas for recess.  We want our students to have proper footwear for these times, so please, for ALL DAYS, have your child or children wear sneakers to school.

6)  Clubs are canceled; it is just too difficult to resume them at this time.  Monies will be refunded for any unused class times.

7)  After School Care is available, but only for registered students (no drop-ins). ASC will be held in the library.

Many thanks to all those who has offered their help to us during this time!  We do appreciate it!

Please check this page for updates.  Mrs. Kang will send periodic e-mails as well.
